Department of Social & Health ServicesThe Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is a helping hand and lifeline for one out of every four Washington residents. Each year, more than 1.5 million children, families, vulnerable adults and seniors come to DSHS for protection, comfort, food assistance, financial aid, medical care and other services. Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD)The Division of Developmental Disabilities develops and implements public policies that will promote individual worth, self-respect, and dignity for people with developmental disabilities, recognizing that individuals are valued as contributing members of the community. Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)This twenty-one member Council, appointed by the Governor, is representative of individuals and groups having an interest in vocational rehabilitation, includes members with broad geographic representation, gender, ethnic, and cultural diversity.
